The B&G slotted headstock design contributes to the vintage, compact and unique look of the Little Sister, reminiscent of the Golden Age of the electric lutherie.
Handmade Electronics
Each pickup is wound by hand with AWG42 lacquered enamel copper wire, powered by in-house cast AlNiCo II and AlNiCo V magnets and covered by our handmade brass covers.

Solid Mahogany Top
Mahogany is a revered tonewoods for its warm and rich tone. A mahogany topped guitar delivers a focused tone, with a slight emphasis on the fundamental of the note.
The Little Sister, All-Mahogany
The All Mahogany version shares the heart & soul of the original Little Sister.Show More
One-piece air-dried chambered genuine mahogany body, one-piece genuine mahogany neck, single-action truss rod, Indian rosewood fingerboard, slotted headstock, and our in-house solid brass hardware. The key difference is the top tonewood - a carefully selected piece of genuine African mahogany instead of the classic maple. Complemented with aged brass hardwareand pickup covers it has a vintage-inspired vibe, further enhanced by the satin nitro finish. The Little Sister, All-Mahogany comes with ourin-house hand-wound Kikbuckers pickup set. While being hum-canceling, they project a delicate balance between warm, raw throaty grit, and unmatched airy quality. Perfect for cutting through the mix, the slightly dryer tone shines in translating the dynamics of the playing style. If played aggressively, the Little Sister, All-Mahogany is also capable of a raunchier "in your face" attitude.Show Less

GOLDEN ERA LUTHERIE
B&G Standard Build guitars are hand-built using the traditional techniques from the ‘Golden Era' of electric lutherie, delivering a vintage feel, look, and sound, straight out of the case.

PRE WAR MYTHOLOGY
The Little Sister design is a reinterpretation of pre-war acoustics. B&G's goal was to create a classic yet fresh, unique instrument, as easy and cozy to play as those almost mythical guitars. Hence the neck joint at the 14th fret, the slotted headstock, and the classic non-cutaway body shape.

CHAMBERED LIGHTWEIGHT BODY
The carved, chambered body, in genuine mahogany, delivers unique acoustic features. It achieves a delicate balance between body resonance and resistance to feedback, that results in an organic, vocal quality to the sound, and a tactile, responsive playing feel. The guitar is by consequence featherlight, but without any compromise on her stability and strength.

TRADITIONAL GLUES
Glue is one of the critical elements in the building of a guitar. Traditional hide glue for the neck joint, fish glue for the frets, and urea-formaldehyde for the top, all crystalize like glass when dry, creating a substantially thinner layer between the different parts, which allows for optimal string energy transfer -- significantly better than modern synthetic glues.

ONE-WAY TRUSS ROD
Single, one-way truss rods are lighter and require a smaller channel in the neck. This building technique also demands neck woods that are perfectly aged, plus accurate installation of the truss rod. Private Build B&G Guitars only use this specific truss rod design, for improved tone transfer and sustain.

B&G PRIVATE BUILD PICKUP
The Private Build pickups are developed and hand-wound in-house, to ensure that specific nuance of vintage tone we wanted for our guitars. They are based on AlNiCo II and V magnets and 42AWG lacquered enamel copper wire. Our custom built coil winder allows us to control the pattern of the windings as well as its tension, to optimize the tone and the microphonic factor. The coils are then ready for the optional wax potting and for the final assembling. The brass covers are essential to our tone, shielding and protecting the pickup. They contribute to smoothen and even out the frequency response of the pickups in the upper midrange, to achieve the unparalleled airy, warm and organic tone of a B&G Guitar.

PROPRIETARY AGED BRASS HARDWARE
Brass is a beautiful metal for guitar hardware. It brilliantly transfers the entire frequency spectrum, without sounding too ‘metallic'. B&G is using proprietary brass hardware that is uniquely aged for a vintage look and tone.

RULE OF 18
The vintage-size frets are precisely installed on the fingerboard, using the historic «Rule of 18» (24 ¾ scale). This placement calculation is slightly different from the modern, computer-determined one, granting that unique character and feel to the guitar playability that only a vintage instrument can deliver.

MAHOGANY TOP
Mahogany topped guitars deliver a very focused tone, with a vocal midrange quality and a rounded, sweetened top end. The fundamental tone is pronounced, while the harmonic spectrum is slightly in the background.

SATIN FINISH
The All Mahogany versions of the Little Sister and Step Sister feature a beautiful Open Pore Nitrocellulose Satin finish, that allows the wood to vibrate and breathe along with the notes played, and ensures the most intimate contact with the player’s hand, for a pure, unmistakable B&G feel.
